PROFILE
The Ballarini Leonardo’s farm, was created in 1994 mainly for the production of cereals. It then expanded its activities in the wine sector in 1996 with the purchase of two vineyards. One of the vineyards has a plant canopy which is registered in the renown wine Rosso Conero label (protected designation of origin) since 1968.
In 2007, the farm owner decided to replant the old vineyard canopy with the aim to grow and produce high quality wines going from about 1,100 vines per hectare to the current 3,450 vines per hectare. The idea behind it is not to produce more than 2-3 kg grapes per vine to increase the quality.
Â
The new position of the vineyard, the tidal influence and the proximity of the hills around provide the perfect recipe for the cultivation of exceptional grapes that produce high quality wines.
Rosso Conero DOC, DOCG Conero Reserve and Esino Bianco DOC are our wines.
The wine cultivation takes place in a friendly environment; the harvest is done manually with the various steps in the vineyard for a careful selection of grapes. The wine is made with great care. The wine cultivation takes place in a friendly environment; the harvest is done manually with the various steps in the vineyard for a careful selection of grapes.
