La Calcinara is a new project that comes to life in the midst of the dualism between belonging and freedom, we call it a vital impulse, that call that we both heard and that made us choose to stay and take care of our land because we could not have done otherwise.
Calcinara has existed since 1997 with the purchase of 20 ha of land and, after the first three years of soil preparation, in the year 2000 we planted the first vineyard of 4.4 ha, what we now call the old vineyard, and 650 olive trees.
In 2005 the first extra virgin olive oil came to light, a blend of ragia and leccino and what will be our basement wine cellar begins to take shape. With the cellar finished in 2007 we harvest the first Folle, which will only be released in 2012.
To date, La Calcinara has a total of 11.5 ha of vineyards and 2.5 ha of olive trees and the whole family takes part in the work.
