PROFILE
A few steps from the company is Poggio Cupro, the highest of the company Cru, located on the northwest side and whose vineyards lie on a large ridge facing south. Soil mainly composed of fine texture clays, which favor the absorption of water and gradually give it to the roots of the plant. The wines produced in this area usually enjoy wide and sunny aromaticity, reflecting the influence of the height and the winds that lick the vine.NIt is here that in 1996 Il Priore, Verdicchio DOC of the Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore was born.Wine with a crystalline, intense, complex taste, fragrant with fruit and floral scents, enveloping and almond-like. It is our highest wine, which is strongly affected by the territory of origin reflecting its characteristics in consistency, minerality and taste structure.
The family estate and the vineyard are facing Mount San Vicino and positioned near the Esino River, which determines interesting thermal excursions that give freshness to the entire cultivation land. It takes its name from the Via Salerna, an ancient dirt road that from the town of Cupramontana enters the surrounding countryside, intersecting the historic vineyards of the Sparapani family. Territory with a predominantly clayey with medium altitude for young and fresh wines. It is here that in 1990 Salerna was born, Verdicchio DOC of the Castelli di Jesi.
Fragrant, fruity, floral wine, with hints of almond and citrus, soft and pleasantly balanced. Young and fresh wine, straw yellow hues with obvious greenish reflections, transmits floral and fruity scents to the sense of smell, typical of the grape variety, with a prevalence of acacia flowers, white pulp fruit, with a mineral finish.
That of Castellaro is a unique vineyard, it develops in height on a wide south facing side, and is divided vertically by the family estate located exactly in the center of it. This offers the possibility of selecting the grapes based on the vintage and the different altitudes present. The size of the soil makes the production of each of its small portion extremely characteristic, in terms of structure, freshness and minerality. The selection of grapes from this vineyard allows us to produce since 2009 our DOCG Reserve “Donna Cloe”, dedicated to the first birth of the third generation of Sparapani. Exuberant, full and powerful wine, where a strong apricot fruit stands out that stretches towards a sweet licorice root to close with a light tannic note that elevates its austerity, thanks to the aging in 10hl oak barrels.
