PROFILE
– Gualdo Turismo is the official page which promotes tourism in Gualdo. –
Gualdo extends over more than 22 square meters. It is a small village, yet it undoubtedly attracts those who enjoy long walks and great views. It is situated on a hill, 652 meters above sea level, between high valleys of the Tennacola and the Salino rivers. The historical village has a typical medieval structure, distinguished by curvy narrow streets, and it abounds in distinctive views and very evocative landscapes. In fact, the view reaches all the way from the nearby Sibillini Mountains to the Conero Mount at the Adriatic coastline. Surrounding territory is outlined by cultivated fields, bordered by streams, rows of centuries-old trees, gravel or earth paved streets and wild forests typical for Macerata countryside which altogether create an incredible mosaic which changes its colors from season to season. The countryside, divided by streets (Bartolotti, Contro, Marchesi, Morrone, Tomassucci, Scarchi, Valle, Castello, Fanelli, Massignano, Picacchi, Zazza), contains scattered houses some of which are isolated and others form small groups. Even nowadays it is still possible to find the signs of ancient rural civilization in this place. The village and its surroundings are especially appealing to those who love going for walks, horse riding, mountain biking, picnic and campervan tours with a possibility to take a break near a fountain, shrine, small church or simply in a shadow in one of so many trees that make the air particularly healthy and refreshing. One leaves Gualdo with a splendor in their eyes. Owing to its position, visitors can enjoy spectacular dawns and dusks and breathtaking scenery… This is how the slogan was created: “Gualdo: Enchanting panoramas, endless emotions”.
