Profile
On the ridge between the valleys of the Cremone and the Morto Ete, overlooking the Sibillini Mountains, Mogliano, a municipality known for both the flourishing crafts related to the processing of wicker and leather goods, is surrounded by olive groves that decorate the surrounding landscape and still preserves some stretches of the ancient walls and the fortress, erected by Gentile da Mogliano in the fourteenth century.
Along the main street stand out some valuable monuments.
Among the most important events is Mogliano 1744, an original event that takes place every year in the anniversary of the Patron Saint John the Baptist and that evokes the glories of eighteenth-century Mogliano.
There are many typical dishes of peasant origin that can be enjoyed in Mogliano. From the vincisgrassi to the porchetta, from the tripe to the beans with the cobes, it is always a pleasure to taste every dish accompanied by the oil “Il Piantone” of Mogliano”. At Christmas in the village’s ovens are prepared the delicious pristinchi, a dessert with figs, flour and dried fruit.
