PROFILE
Borgo Paglianetto was born in 2008 from the merger of two long-standing wineries operating in the territory and from the love for Matelica of the five titular professionals who, being very close to their homeland, decided to dedicate their free time to this activity, focusing on the production of Verdicchio, without forgetting the Marche Rosso.
Borgo Paglianetto is located in Matelica, in the heart of the Marche region and the Verdicchio production area of Matelica Doc. With its almost 29 hectares, Borgo Paglianetto extends on the Matelice hills in a closed valley, the so-called Alta Valle dell’Esino, representing the only case in the Marche region for the unusual north-south orientation, a determining factor for the creation of that particular microclimate that allows the cultivation of grapes of the highest quality. Thanks to these conditions, it is possible to obtain wines characterized by a solid structure but capable, at the same time, of giving freshness, depth and incredible longevity.
Our mission is to aim for a high quality production but that is sustainable at the same time, in full respect of the territory, convinced that this sensitivity guarantees the consumer to find in every glass the maximum expression of grape variety and terroir. From our point of view, innovation goes through the protection of the environment, workers and processing processes: for this reason we are committed daily to preserving the value of the natural resources that surround us, using raw materials capable of reducing the use of energy and limiting intervention in the vineyard and in the cellar to essential practices. You will discover that our wines are authentic, one different from the other thanks to the different ages and exposures of the vineyards, the degree of ripeness of the grapes and the refined drinking style. Long-lived wines of character at all levels, capable of telling a unique territory and enriching, with every sip, the sensory experience of those who choose them.
